Plus most of my music is electronic and Beatport is the place to pull the tagging info from for the most part. The more I used it the more I disliked it.

Improves the metadata to allow Roon to identify albums it could not previouslyĬan also reorganize folder structure to put split albums back into one album = one folder to help Roon identify. This now includes support for finding artist images, these can be added to the music files themselves but also if you have your music organized by AlbumArtist/Album it can store the albumartist as a folder.jpg within each artist folder. Blog of Jthink an Indie Software Company, has two music tag editors, Jaikoz and SongKong Music Tagger, both use MusicBrainz and Discogs database. I used Jaikoz (same company) for a while, even purchased a license. Roon cannot always identify all your music, especially if your music includes partial albums or invalid metadata. Roon is a great application for playing your music, but Jaikoz music tagging features can make it even better, and like Roon we really care about metadata. Jaudiotagger is the Audio Tagging library used by Jaikoz and SongKong taggers for tagging data in Audio files. The good news is I have now added the same Roon support to Jaikoz as well Or you may be aware of the SongKong Music Tagger, this is a fully automated tagger with extensive Roon support. Paul Taylor trys to create useful software, currently have two music taggers, a dead simple one called SongKong and a super duper complex one called jaikoz.
#JAIKOZ OR SONGKONG MANUAL#
Now how do you manage that.Hi, you may already aware of Jaikoz Music Tagger, a comprehensive automatic and manual editing tagger available for MacOS,Windows and and Linux. Having said all that, currently SongKong does a better job then Jaikoz because it does not suffer from the memory limitations that Jaikoz has, and the matching algorithm has been tweaked with some improvements that are not yet in Jaikoz (but will be).

You at least need to use some of the 100 metadata fields to find your way around your music. Just a file name in an album-named folder doesn’t cut it. File based audio playback will only be comfortable if all files contain appropriate metadata.
